My Story

Ciao! My name is Grazia, the founder and pastry chef

My passion for baking and love for traditions passed down generations, have inspired me to create Pasticcini Italian Patisserie.
My aim is to bring you the truly authentic flavours of Italian cakes and Pasticcini, Italian for ‘mini pastries’ - dessert canapés with a surprisingly rich taste that leave you with an unforgettable culinary experience at every bite.

As an Italian with roots in Calabria, I have an innate love for food. Growing up with a southern Italian culture meant every family occasion revolved around food - it’s a way to spend time together and show your loved ones your affection. Watching my grandmother passionately cook infinite amounts of food and baking delicious traditional cakes specific to every event of the year, greatly influenced my passion for baking. Over the years I developed a strong skill set thanks to my grandmother’s teachings and self-taught initiative by reading books and watching tutorials by professional pastry chefs.

After graduating at the University of Leicester with a degree in Physics and working in the regulatory affairs sector I decided it was time for me to follow my passion and turn it into my full-time profession – become a pastry chef.
Before creating Pasticcini Italian Patisserie I decided to formalise and improve my skill-set to a greater standard at the renowned International School of Italian Cuisine ICIF in Costigliole d’Asti, Italy, where I completed the Diploma in Pasticceria Italiana (Italian Patisserie) overseen by the International Federation of Pastry, Ice Cream and Chocolate (FIPCG).
My greatest satisfaction is being able to bring you moments of joy through the love, precision and care that I put into every cake and pasticcini I make, to guarantee high quality, authentic products and pass down traditions in respect of Italian culture and my childhood memories.
